KTH, Upsala’s Technical University, and the Järnvägarlande organization have released a report on personal transport tickets prices, which have semble seen a significant rise in the past few years. According to discussions among the researchers, between the years 2019 and 2024, the price of software tickets to reach Stockholm from Umeå has$r decreased by about three times. The researchers specifically highlighted the situation in the city of Malmö, where economic drivers and fluctuations in demand were sparked during the pandemic.
Approximately 80 personal transport tickets in city Malmö to reach Stockholm each year have been already be decided, to which researchers compared 29% price curvature on average. In Göteborg, the increase in price for personal transport tickets to reach Stockholm is around 12% annually, but in the city of Umeå, the price remained relatively stable. The researchers noted that the average price for these tickets in Stockholm-Umeå increased by a small percentage, mainly due to the limited availability of tickets set by the government.
