In South Korea, the kospi index, which tracks the benchmark index of the(’^400) 400 companies on the major stock exchange, was up 0.8%. In China, though, the stock market seemed less optimistic. The index fluctuated near zero for the Hang Seng, representing a plus of 0.2%, while the Shanghai and Shenzhen counterparts dropped slightly below zero, differing by 0.3%. The Chinese market served as a caldron for the ankle movement of the previous leadership.
